WhatsApp Acceptable Use & Compliance Policy

This policy outlines the rules, restrictions, and compliance standards for businesses using WhatsApp automation through Messegy.

1. Independent Platform Disclaimer

Messegy is an independent software platform that integrates with the WhatsApp Business API. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to WhatsApp Inc. or Meta Platforms, Inc.

2. Mandatory Consent Requirement

Users must obtain explicit, lawful, and verifiable consent from recipients before sending any WhatsApp messages. Consent must:

  • Be freely given and clearly documented
  • Specify that the user may receive WhatsApp communication
  • Allow recipients to opt-out at any time

3. Prohibited Use

Users may not use Messegy for:

  • Spam or unsolicited bulk messaging
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading content
  • Adult, gambling, illegal, or prohibited goods/services
  • Political manipulation or misinformation
  • Harassment or abusive communication

4. Template Messaging Compliance

All outbound template messages must comply with WhatsApp Business API guidelines. Template misuse may result in rejection or account restriction by Meta.

5. Quality Rating & Account Health

Users are responsible for maintaining acceptable quality ratings as defined by WhatsApp. High block rates or user complaints may result in messaging limits or account suspension.

6. Opt-Out Mechanism

Users must provide a clear method for recipients to unsubscribe or opt-out from further communication. Opt-out requests must be honored immediately.

7. Content Responsibility

Users are solely responsible for all messages sent via the platform. Messegy does not review, monitor, or approve message content unless required by law.

8. Account Suspension

Messegy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • Violate WhatsApp or Meta policies
  • Generate excessive spam reports
  • Engage in unlawful or harmful activity

9. Data Protection Compliance

Users must comply with applicable data protection laws, including but not limited to Indian IT laws and international privacy regulations where applicable.

10. Monitoring & Enforcement

We may monitor usage patterns to detect abuse, spam behavior, or policy violations. Repeated violations may result in permanent termination.

11. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in WhatsApp or Meta policies. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updates.
