WhatsApp Usage Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
1. Opt-in Requirements
Before messaging any user via WhatsApp, you must obtain an active opt-in. The opt-in must explicitly state that the person agrees to receive messages from you over WhatsApp.
2. Acceptable Message Types
You may only send messages that are relevant and expected by the customer. Spam, unsolicited marketing, and excessive messaging are strictly prohibited and may result in the suspension of your WhatsApp Business API account.
3. Prohibited Content
You may not use WhatsApp to sell or promote:
- Illegal products or services
- Drugs, prescription drugs, or recreational drugs
- Tobacco items or related paraphernalia
- Alcohol or adult content
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives
4. Quality Ratings
WhatsApp monitors the quality of your messages. If your phone number quality rating drops significantly, your messaging limits may be restricted, or your number may be banned.
5. Enforcement
We work closely with Meta to enforce these policies. Messegy reserves the right to terminate our services to your business if you violate these policies.
